Larry is the founder, owner and president of the BURCOS Group of Companies – the privately held parent company of 3RSystems, LLC™, 3RS Profit MAX™, ICCOA™ and Live It Up! Seminars™ based in Minneapolis, Minnesota USA. 

1970:     Larry began his career doing commercial building plan take offs and estimating then advanced to new home construction framing and exterior remodeling siding/trim/roofing/window and gutter estimating, planning, installation, production, quality control and sales. 

 

1971:     Founded 3RSystems™ - storm damage contracting and consulting company.

 

1975/76: Acted/performed at the Minnesota Ensemble Theatre, a satellite of the famous Tyrone Guthrie Theatre

 

1986:     Founded 3RS Wealth Creation Systems™, an insurance and investment financial planning firm. 

 

2002:     Founded Live It Up! Seminars™ - personal & business development and life enhancement seminars.             

 

2009:     Wrote, published and released first edition of 3RS Profit MAX™ / The Playbook ©

 

2010:     Created and developed 3RStimax™, contractor friendly insurance claim repair estimation software platform.  Founded ICCOA™ - Independent Construction Contractors of America™ @ iccoa.com

 

On numerous occasions, Larry has served as an expert witness, umpire and property owner advocate in bad faith insurance claim underpayment and denial court cases.  He has also acted in leadership positions with various national and international marketing companies as a seminar speaker, business builder and sales trainer.

 

Larry has over four decades of hands on construction industry experience covering all aspects of the business.  Larry also has twenty years of in depth and verifiable insurance and investment industry consulting experience that included intensive study of insurance and financial products, investments and estate planning processes.

I started in the construction business in the summer of 1970 beginning as a new construction framer.  In January of 1971, in the middle of a very wet and very cold Minnesota winter, I went to work picking up roofing tear off, placing it onto a snow covered tarp and hauling it over to and tossing it into the bosses trailer for $2.50 per hour.  The boss, who was one of the best roofing and siding installers as well as one of the best all around carpenters I have ever seen, asked me if I wanted to work with him.  I agreed and started in March of that year.  In the summer of that same year, I discovered the "wonder" (and the profitability) of storm damage repair contracting. 

My first storm damage contracts that year were with three property owners in Bloomington, Minnesota who lived across the street from what is now called the Kent Hrbek Youth Fields.  All three property owners had been underpaid on their storm damage claims by 90%.  But, with the same independent minded aggressiveness, tenacity and determination I later used to build an insurance and investment services clientele made up of some of the country's best known and most successful business owners and executives, I was successful in getting each of those property owners insurance companies to fully pay the other 90% that was due them on their storm damage claims.  As the years went by, and as my knowledge of the business of storm damage insurance claim contracting increased, my income regularly increased in direct proportion to my increase in knowledge. 

In 1984 one of the top insurance/investment/estate planners in the country who I had begun working with in another business venture asked me if I would be interested in putting my business experience to work with him in the insurance and investment services field helping other successful business owners and executives to preserve and increase the value of their assets.  After several years of considering his offer I decided to add "financial services consultant" to my resume. 

Successful business owners and executives who sought out my help with their insurance, investment and estate planning respected and trusted me because they knew that, like them, I was also a successful business owner who knew how to get the job done.  Many of them had become millionaires as a result of their efforts - the same kind of millionaires you read about in "The Millionaire Next Door".  My job was to show them how to preserve those millions and make them grow - which I did. 

Over that same time period, while still running my insurance and investment services firm and my storm damage consultancy, I also worked with several national and International marketing organizations as a seminar speaker, business builder and sales trainer.  As each year went by I increased my knowledge which, in turn, allowed me to also further increase my income.

By 2007 however, I had become entirely fed up with P&C insurance companies never ending attempts to underpay and deny legitimate storm damage claims and state insurance commissioners reluctance to do anything about it.  I had also became frustrated with the endless piling on of burdensome business stifling rules and regulations and harassment by busy body bureaucrats.  As a result, I decided to sell off my insurance and investment practice in order to devote my full time efforts and experience to writing, publishing and distributing the 3RS Profit MAX™ insurance claims training and certification system - "The Playbook"©.  In 2010, I founded Independent Construction Contractors of America™ (ICCOA) to be a national voice for independent construction contractors and related professionals across the country who've had enough of the insidious interference in their businesses by those same power hungry and ill informed bureaucrats.
